H2OOOooo...

About this time every year I get the summer riding dulldrums. It is hot and I've ridden the local trails a con-million times. So it is nice to have another sport to turn to to get refreshed and excited. Especially one that envolves a dip into a cool lake on a hot day.
I've seen some nice GoPro video of surfers with the camera mounted on the front of the board looking back at the surfer. Sweet perspective! So I thought I'd try the same thing on my water ski. Hope you like it.

Back In The Saddle and some randomness

Just some of the photos I've taken in the last couple months.  Mack Ridge, Troy Built, Lunch Loop, Horse Thief Bench and Palisade Rim are included.  Mike and I actually got out together for the first time in quite a while.  Also a couple of random shots for the fun of it.
The last photo is somewhat of a quiz as to whether you can tell what it is.  Bon and I are still debating.  Pink bra straps and a 5 o'clock shadow don't add up.  But it was another one of those photos you just can't pass up.

We had a cold Spring.  Bon cutting the lawn on April 30th.

Why did the Collared Lizard cross the road?  I guess we'll never know.

Kid's Meal

The great thing about mountain biking is not just riding, but enjoying an after the ride social on a nice spring evening.  This group was just chilling in the Lunch Loop parking lot.

Bree on Palisade Rim Hike-a-Bike

The normal route up was washed out with high water so we had to push more than usual... or so they told us first timers?

Any guesses?  From the front it looked more male, but the outfit was defying that assessment.  Maybe a tranny of some sort.  The full size pump in the pack is a nice touch.  As well as the surgical mask around the neck and a rape whistle.

Until next time.

Andy's Loop etc.

Since my "little" cardiac event and subsequent surgery last month, I haven't been getting out with my normal photo geeking ride buddies for any action.  It is a result of a couple of factors I believe.  First, my rehab kept me to slow and short rides that don't coincide with their dynamic. And second, I believe I am now "tainted" in some of their eyes.  Which on some level is understandable, I mean nothing ruins a ride faster than one of your group dying on the trail.  Ask my wife.
So I finally decided to risk the extra pack weight and load up the big camera yesterday, for a geeking ride, to see how it would go.  I ended up on Andy's Loop and Katie and Brian from Steamboat CO.  happened by.  They had just come down the Ribbon and since I needed some subjects I just started shadowing them, geeking away as they rode.  I promised to make them famous by posting some photos on the blog, so here they are.  For me it just felt good to get back to something that seemed normal.
The desert flowers are really blooming after all the moisture we've been getting.

Brian loving the long hike!

Katie trying an up move she didn't think she would make, but did!

Later in the day I slipped over to one of my nieghbors yards for some more geeking.  So many flowers, so little time.

Until next time.  It's good to be back.  In fact, it's good to be anywhere!
